*Islamabad:*
In 1959, the area was declared the central capital.
It was named Islamabad after the religion of Islam.

* Rawalpindi: *
This city was the home of the Raval people,
Chaudhry Jhande Khan Rawal formally founded it in the fifteenth century.

*Karachi:*
About 220 years ago it was a fishing village,
It was renamed Kalachi after a Baloch named Kalacho, then gradually became Karachi.
In 1925 it was given the status of a city.
It was the capital of Pakistan from 1947 to 1959.

* Lahore: *
According to one theory, Lahore was named after Lava, the son of the Hindu god Rama.
The lava was called iron,
And the fort built for iron (lava) became famous as 'Iron, Hour'
Which clearly meant 'iron fortress'.

* Quetta: *

* Bahawalpur: *

* Multan: *

The town was named after a spiritual elder from South Punjab, whose shrine is in the same town.

* Sahiwal: *
This city was the home of the Sahi people,
That is why it is called Sahiwal.
In the British era, the British Governor of Punjab was called Montgomery after Montgomery.
